Saint Sandro +++/ has earned the following levels of AHA "Horse Achievement Awards" in 2011 (52 in-hand, and 69 performance for a total of 121 Points):

LEGION OF MERIT "++" (Half-Arabians/Anglo-Arabians - 60 points, with a minimum of 25 in breeding/in-hand and 25 in performance)

LEGION OF SUPREME MERIT "+++" (Half-Arabians/Anglo-Arabians - 120 points, with a minimum of 50 breeding/in-hand and 50 in performance)

This was Saint Sandro's first time at Nationals. He came away with 5 NATIONAL TOP TEN awards, and 2 National Reserve Grand Champions!

National Top Ten

First o/f round 2'9": 8th
Second o/f round: 9th
Saint Sandro qualified and moved on to the finals for the top ten to advance to the final hack.
Hack: 2nd Nationally under BOTH Judges!!!

Ending up 4th overall in the Nation!

RESERVE NATIONAL GRAND CHAMPION and NATIONAL TOP TEN
Tied for Champion (two judges) - tie broke by weighted judge, who selected the other horse - if tie would have been broken by movement median score as USEF rules state, Saint would have won. Although Saint Sandro did tie for National Champ, he was "Officially" named National Reserve Champ.

- 1st Place under the Dressage judge Nationally - ended up Tied for Reserve Champion Nationally
This class was split into 2 (group A/B) semi final groups.
Saint went against 14 in group A, 8 advancing in each group. Saint advanced to the Final. 16 total horses in the final. Saint was pinned 1st under the dressage judge overall- NATIONALLY and 8th under the hunter judge (another horse cut Saint off and Hunter judge saw it). Two horses tied for Champ, and 2 tied for Reserve - Saint was one of the 2 tied for Reserve Champ.

There were 110 in hand rounds- Saint had the HIGHEST score of the day overall.
New rider "Megan" offered to ride Saint for us in the Championship classes, riding him for the first time 10 min before the Championships classes winning 4 Champions and 2 Res Champ out of 3 double pinned classes.

Although Saint was the only horse in his in hand classes, we looked at his placings overall- there were 132 in hand classes- Saint received an UNBELIEVABLE 95% in hand and the second highest score of the day overall- just behind the SHIH National Champion for the past 7 years running who received a 95.25%.

Saint goes from Sporthorese In-hand, to Sporthorse Under Saddle, to Dressage, to Hunter U/S and O/F all within 4 days... pinning in all his classes.

Novice 2'9" Jumper Division (1st, 4th, 5th Place- one rail pulled, no refusals or time penalties)

Saint Sandro was up against stallions all over a hand or more taller than him, placing 3rd overall. He held his own to receive a final score easily securing his approval. The Inspector said he was a refreshing cross, bringing in unique breeding with his lines of Sandro Hit /Stedinger cross infusing Arab blood for refining. The inspectors stated his jumping ability made him stand out and was impressive. They stated he was a very nice "all around" type for both Dressage and Jumping and that he was very athletic and a nice addition as a unique type for mare owners looking to refine down LARGE mares, add suspension, and to shorten coupling on long loined mares.

There were over 56 individual horses entered in the show. Saint was both Champion and Reserve overall high scoring horse of the day at this show. He was 2 yrs old.
